Excavation and cut access roads on a Group Four construction site in the Chouf, Lebanon
Civil Works

Civil Works in Lebanon

Earthworks, drainage, and infrastructure before the structure, and external works once it is up.

Ground Works

The work that happens before and after

Civil works bracket a project. Excavation, shoring, and backfill come before anything vertical. Drainage, hardscaping, and external works close it out. Both ends are where mountain sites cause trouble, because a plot that sheds water badly keeps causing problems long after handover.

On sloped ground in the Chouf, cut and fill has to be planned against the retaining strategy rather than treated separately. We set the levels, the drainage falls, and the access road together so the site works as one thing.

Scope of works

01

Excavation & Earthworks

Cut and fill set out against the structural levels, with spoil handling and haul routes planned rather than improvised.

  • Bulk and detailed excavation
  • Cut and fill balancing
  • Spoil removal and haul routes
02

Backfilling & Compaction

Backfill placed in layers and compacted to the specified density, with waterproofing protected as the earth goes back.

  • Layered placement and compaction
  • Density testing
  • Protection of below-ground waterproofing
03

Drainage & Infrastructure

Surface and subsurface drainage, service trenches, and utility routes laid before the structure closes over them.

  • Surface and subsoil drainage
  • Service trenches and ducting
  • Manholes and inspection chambers
04

Site Retention

Retaining and boundary walls holding the level changes a sloped plot creates, with drainage built in behind them.

  • Retaining and boundary walls
  • Backfill drainage
  • Slope protection
05

External Works

Hardscaping, paving, kerbs, and the finished ground level, carried out once building work is clear of the area.

  • Paving, kerbs, and driveways
  • Site levelling and finishes
  • Boundary and gate works

Sloped sites across the Chouf

Mountain plots need access roads before they need foundations. Being based in Baakleen means we know which sites need a road built first, and we price it honestly.
