This residential villa, designed for Dr. Iman Abou Shakra, rises from the hillside of Baadaran with a commanding presence that honours both its heritage and a contemporary vision for living. At 450 m², the structure combines a sweeping multi-level layout with a prominently sloped terracotta-tiled roof — a signature of the Mediterranean vernacular that has defined the El Chouf landscape for centuries.
The villa's architecture draws from both classic Lebanese residential traditions and a forward-looking design sensibility. Large windows distributed across each floor flood the interior with natural light and open sightlines toward the valley below, while arched frames at the entry and principal openings add sculptural depth to the façade. The driveway curves gracefully around the perimeter, arriving at a grand entrance that signals a considered hierarchy of spaces — from the arrival court to the multi-level interior. Surrounding plantings of mature trees and carefully maintained hedging create a private, serene envelope that buffers the residence from the outside world and enhances the sense of retreat that Dr. Iman Abou Shakra sought from the outset. The overall palette of stone cladding, terracotta, and neutral render gives the villa both warmth and permanence, qualities especially valued in El Chouf's high-altitude mountain climate.

The project spans five years in duration, reflecting the scale of intervention required: from reinforcing and extending the structural frame to replanning interior layouts, replacing services throughout, and applying new exterior finishes that respect the villa's original massing.
